We have finally had some weather warm enough to get outside and play in, yippee!!
We frequently like to take walks after nap in the afternoon. On this day Anabelle decided to take her golf club, ball, and flag along and see if she could find any holes. Low and behold! -she did. Love how she's holding the American flag :)
We still have our membership to the Arboretum, and love visiting the children's garden. Charlotte was excited to get a chance to explore it for the first time. I love how I also captured my Mom in the background, we were each hanging out on opposite sides of the tunnel in case Charlotte needed help. I'm sure my Mom has a picture of Charlotte's behind with me taking a picture from the other side :)
Anabelle spent a good part of the morning making stone soup. She collected stones from all over the garden and made different piles of soup all over the place. Sometimes working with other kids and sometimes cooking on her own, she was very into it.
Before leaving Anabelle took a shot at climbing on this big acorn structure. My general policy on climbing is that she needs to do it on her own. I will "spot" her, but I will not assist. I want Anabelle to feel comfortable climbing and I think you get that way by knowing that you got yourself up and you also need to learn how to get yourself down. She is really good at climbing and although it does make me nervous at times, I love that she enjoys it and I think it's a great activity.
Several (much older) kids were able to stand on top and Anabelle was pretty bummed that she couldn't quite get up there yet. But I think think by the end of the summer, she'll be able to do it.
