Hello readers I have some sad news to report, today summer died. I know the calendar said summer was over a few weeks ago, but if you live in Chicago you know that summer usually extends into October. Today Fall finally arrived. To mourn the death of summer here's my top 10 for the week.

Swimming
Ice cream
The farmer's market
Baseball games
Bar-B-Q’s
Weekends away
Fireworks
Beer gardens
Flowers

Summer totally did die today and I am so sad! At least I got the chance to say a proper goodbye though... we all kinda knew yesterday was going to be the last gasp.
Oh yeah, here are some of mine...
-it still being light out when I leave work
-being able to leave the house with wet hair
-the peace of mind that comes from knowing if I get lost somwhere in the city or locked out of my apartment I won't eventually freeze to death :(
How about running outside without multiple layers and gloves.
turning off the A/C,opening the windows and snuggling under the covers.
walking and having the beautiful colors of fall to look at.
hearing the leaves crunch under foot when walking.
being able to cook a proper oven cooked roast with roasted potatoes and carrots and pumpkin pie for dessert.
Caramel Apples and apple picking,apple cider and cider donuts.
for those who still have some "kid" left in them, raking leaves and jumping in them and Halloween!
and what's not to like about Thanksgiving :)
and the smells of Fall,fireplaces when you are out walking and cookies in the oven when you come home from school/work.
