This past weekend went by in the blink of an eye! Anabelle has a bit of a cold, and so we were dealing with runny noses, lots of congestion, and lack of sleep. Although, trooper that she is, she managed to hang in there and have some fun despite not feeling her best. She is on the mend now, and hopefully will be back to her usual self in no time. Here are just a few pictures from the weekend, I was not my usual picture taking self and didn't get many taken.
Saturday was a beautiful day in Chicago, and so we spent some time at the beach by our place. I had taken Anabelle there a couple of days prior just to scope out the facilities and see how she reacted to the beach. Well on the first visit she was great, just sat there and ran her fingers through the sand, dug her feet in, so calm. This time was much different! She was on a mission to eat as much sand as possible. There was sand covering her face, drool, some snot mixed in there- it was yucky! Then you try and wipe it off, it hurts her poor little face and you feel like a terrible mommy. Because I had applied sunscreen the sand was sticking to her chest and arms, and she had a wet mud-like mess on her shirt. Once we got her mostly cleaned up and entertained on a blanket where she couldn't reach the sand it was better, but isn't it kind of the point to be able to touch the sand when you go to the beach? Bummer. Oh well, I think the beach will have to wait a little bit. But we did have some fun and Anabelle got to feel the water with her toes, it was way to cold for swimming in yet.
