Crown Fountain at Millennium Park

Yesterday Anabelle and I met up with Darcy for a picnic at Millennium Park and some playing in the fountain. It was a beautiful day to be downtown Chicago, and lots of other people had the same idea that we did. All around us were people on their lunch breaks, out with friends, or with their children enjoying the sunshine. Earlier that morning I packed a picnic for us and put Anabelle in her swimsuit, slathered head to toe with sunscreen she was ready for some fun! We arrived around 11:15, and met up with Aunt Darcy in a nice grassy spot to eat some lunch. I knew we needed to eat first because once Anabelle saw the fountain we would never get her out. If you haven't seen Crown Fountain before, it is definitely a sight to see in Chicago. For more info check out this link http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Crown_Fountain

I love visiting the fountain and every time I go I have to get my feet wet. In fact, I don't think anyone can visit it without dipping their toes in the water. I have always loved watching children run and play in the water and couldn't wait to take Anabelle, I knew she would love it. Darcy and I had a great time just following her around, watching her smile and run. She ran up to other kids wanting to play, and to people sitting on the benches watching-no shyness from my little girl! She ran right under the waterfall and had no fear about getting wet, this little girl is a thrill seeker for sure. Usually there is a nozzle spouting water from the face on the fountain, but it wasn't working yesterday, so I didn't get to see her reaction that that part, but I am sure we'll be back again soon. It was a great way to spend the day.

While we were at Millennium Park we decided to check out the "bean" too. It was very crowded, we'll have to go back another time to get some better pictures and to let Anabelle really check it out.

Exhausted after a fun day!
