I love you Mom!

Here's to
Good Women;
May we know them
May we be them
May we raise them

This is one of my favorite photos of my Mom and I having fun and laughing about something, which is pretty much how we are most of the time. Thanks Mom for always keeping me smiling and helping me to see the fun in life. You are always up for an adventure and I love that! Happy Mother's Day!

Fairy Festival

Mom and I spent the day with the girls at Fairy Fest, a festival at Pilcher Park put on by the Joliet Park District. This was the first year we have gone to this event and I have to say that it was fantastic. We will be sure to attend in the future- always the 1st Saturday in May. When I asked how long this fest had been taking place, everyone seemed to answer- "for as long as we can remember", and it seemed that way. Everything was run by volunteers and it worked like a well oiled machine. For $10 per person (At 2 years old Charlotte was still a freebie!) you got to participate in a great amount of fun activities. They had many vendors as well, but nothing too invasive and the only activity they charged extra for was face painting. A truly adorable and fun event on a beautiful sunny spring day.

We started out by making fairy wands, sticks dipped in "troll snot" and rolled in pixie dust.

We then were led on a fairy walk through the forest to search for fairy homes, we found many very detailed homes, some out in the open and some tucked into interesting places.

Of course there was fairy story time, with tales of different fairies...

And fairy dancing with music and bubbles...

And even the Fairy of the Blackhawks was there to celebrate.

Charlotte and Anabelle decided to get dragonflies painted on their faces.

We spent some time picking out some goodies- a pine cone "fairy friend" and some magic fairy stones.

 We took a lovely carriage ride pulled by a beautiful white horse-Mary.

Finally it was time to attend Fairy School...

What could be more adorable than watching a ton of little girls in fluffy skirts, wings, and flowers run around in the woods? It was such a fun day and Charlotte and Anabelle loved all of the magic and make believe of the Fairy Fest.
